Damar Resin 

Dammar, also called Dammar gum, or Damargum, is a resin obtained from the tree family Dipterocarpaceae in India and Southeast Asia, principally those of the genera Shorea or Hopea (synonym Balanocarpus). The resin of some species of Canarium may also called dammar. Most is produced by tapping trees; however, some is collected in fossilised form on the ground. The gum varies in colour from clear to pale yellow, while the fossilised form is grey-brown.

What Are Its Uses?

Damar resin, also known as cat-eye resin, lifts the spirit and brings light to the darkness of the soul. Damar resin is said to be particularly useful to combat sadness, depression and melancholy. Usage: 

Set a charcoal tablet in a contained on a bed of sand and light the tablet. Slowly fan or blow on the tablet. Only after the charcoal is a glow and stops crackling put the resin incense of the top. Use a knife, spoon or tweezers to drop the resin incense onto the tablet. Set aside enough time so that you can enjoy the ritual of incense burning. When selecting a location, make sure there are no combustible objects nearby.
